No, but it needs explaining. The warning doesn't mean the file was altered — it means the publisher isn't confirmed by a purchased certificate. The download page has the step-by-step route past it, and how to verify for yourself that the file arrived unaltered.
All of it stays on your machine. There is no server that sees any of it.

That folder holds history, bookmarks, settings, cookies, the saved session and the encrypted vault. A backup of it is a complete backup of your browser.
Aszendra finds Chrome, Edge, Brave, Firefox and Safari by itself and asks on first launch. Later, any time, through Menu → Settings → Import bookmarks. The other browser is only read, never changed.
Those are deliberately not taken over automatically. A set of passwords that wanders from one program to the next unasked is exactly what you don't want from a password manager. You add entries to the vault yourself, or have them saved the next time you sign in.
Then nobody can get into the vault any more — including us. That is not harshness but the point: the password never leaves your machine, and there is no back door. Unless you wrote down the recovery code when you set it up. That opens the vault without the master password. If you still have it, go and find it now.

Aszendra asks every four hours whether something newer exists. On Windows it downloads and installs the new version itself; you are only asked when to restart. On macOS you get a notice and a button — the swap needs one click from you as long as Apple's signature is missing.
Settings let you turn this off entirely and switch between the Stable, Beta and Development channels.
The tab was asleep and wakes up when you click it. If that bothers you,
raise the time in settings or set it to 0 — then no tab
ever falls asleep.
macOS: move Aszendra from the Applications folder to
the Bin. The data stays in
~/Library/Application Support/Aszendra and has to be
removed separately — deliberately, so a reinstall doesn't lose
everything.
Windows: Settings → Apps → Aszendra → Uninstall. The
installer asks whether the data should go too.
Aszendra sends nothing on its own — not even crash reports, because
they can contain whatever you had just typed. The reports sit locally
in the data folder under Crashpad. Sending one with a
short description to
hallo@aszendra.com helps a
great deal — but it is your decision, every time.
